How do you tell partner that you have a great hand (besides the squeal of delight that emitted from your throat when you saw all those aces and kings <---you will have to learn to control that or be shot at dawn!!)? One way would be to open the hand 2 clubs. This is called an artificial bid because although you have opened with a suit, your bid says nothing at all about your club holding. It merely says, "Partner, I have a monster!!" Depending on partnership agreement, your hand should be 20 or more points, or near 20 points and two suited.
Here is an example of a Two Club Opening Hand (don't you wish you were dealt cards like this all the time?)
AK ~~~ KQJxx ~~~ AQJxx ~~~ x
A nice twenty point
