Here's a neat descriptive bid!! Michael's Cue Bid is a direct cue bid showing a two-suited hand and less than opening points. The bid of 2C directly over opponent's 1C opening bid promises 5-5 in two suits. Over opponent's minor opening, the cue bid is a take out for the majors. Example:
N ~~~ E ~~~ S ~~~ W
~~~~ 1C ~~~ 2C
This 2C bid promises 5-5 in the majors. Over a major suit opening bid, the cue bid shows the other major and an unspecified minor.
After making a Michael's Cue Bid, partner's bid of 2NT asks the cue bidder to bid his minor suit.
